Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of the LORD God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as the body of Christ.
We agree, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Ghost, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness and comfort, to promote its prosperity and spirituality, and to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Ghost, to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.
We will not be conformed to this world, but are transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we might prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
We will contribute cheerfully and regularly in the support of the Gospel ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations.
We agree to maintain family and secret devotions; to diligently educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances;
To walk circumspectly in the world, be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, modest in our appearance, exemplary in our deportment, and zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.
We will be careful not to let our actions cause those who are weak in faith to fall into sin;
To abstain from the sale, use and support of tobacco or intoxicating substances.
We agree to watch over one another in brotherly love, remember one another in prayer, aid one another in sickness and distress, and cultivate Christian sympathy with feeling and courtesy in speech; to avoid all tattling, backbiting and anger.
We agree to be slow to take offense, always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the admonition of our Saviour to secure such reconciliation without delay.
We will strive to come together to oneness in our faith, use our spiritual gifts for works of service, and in our faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to become a mature people attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
We will always give God the honor and glory for all our blessings, trials, and tribulations.
We moreover engage that we will be true to our calling here, and will not leave unless expressly called by the Holy Ghost to another ministry, where we will unite with another church to carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of the Scripture.
